About
A short, free course that helps you configure the personal and organisational layers of Claude Desktop. In four lessons and about half an hour, you go from a generic assistant who knows nothing about you and your work, to one that knows all about you and your work and business. The AI will know who you are, what you do, who you serve and how you serve them. This course is short but complete. It gets you off the ground fast and set you up for more comprehensive customisation later. The setup you do here is the same foundation the paid Claude Series builds on, and the first thing I help my clients set up for themselves.
Business owners, freelancers, consultants, and professionals already using Claude.
People who want Claude to do real work rather than answer one-off queries with no memory.
Anyone who has felt that Claude gives generic answers and cut and paste prompting.
You're on a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, or Team) for the Cowork parts — Lesson 3 is for Teams accounts
No technical background is needed. The guided templates walk you through the process.
Find out about this course, what's inside, who it's for, what you can expect to learn, and how it forms the entry point for the overall Claude for Business series of courses.
These lessons will walk you through your initial setup for Claude desktop and show you step-by-step how to customise the app so that it knows who you are, what you do, the role you occupy, your responsibilities, the business cooperate or work in, and the people you serve. These steps are important so that the AI can provide you with tailored responses.

I am a work and organisational psychologist, lecturer in psychology, and AI skills trainer. My business background extends 20 years in the electrical and electronic systems integration business and I have been teaching business people AI skills since 2023. I take a practical, people-first, hands-on approach to AI skills training rather than a theoretical and academic approach. You'll walk away from training with real every day AI skills.
Testimonials
“I manage 16 concurrent projects across infrastructure, compliance, and system integrations — largely on my own. I was already using AI tools, but without structure. The knowledge never carried over and the effort stayed fragmented. Larry's programme changed that."
DX Lead, Pinto Lopes Viagens
"Really enjoyed these sessions. Learned lots ... and some really helpful tips that I can use in my everyday work"
Course Participant
"Larry brings a high level of professionalism and intellectual robustness to everything he puts his attention to. He has worked with us on a number of development programmes in DCU, which were very well received. I highly recommend him.”
